As always, thank you for making a vid for me!

( Letter! )

Festivids is live! And I received three (!!!) lovely vids. It was both a pleasure and a curse to see the gifted vids keep popping up in AO3 while I frantically tried to finish my own vid.

wheels revolving, a vid for The Fountain (a lovely film starring Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz), which features really nice editing of the different parallel scenes in the movie.

Summertime Killer, a vid for Lady Gaga's music videos. Regardless of how much I like the songs, I've always really enjoyed her music videos and the vidder has managed to capture some of my favourite scenes.

Trespasses (better get your gun), a vid for Gunpowder Milkshake, which not only has a lovely, moody feel to it but also a great blend of the action scenes.

I haven't watched any of the other vids yet and honestly by the time that I do, the vidders will probably all be revealed, so I'll save any further recs until then.

General Vidding Likes
I like all sorts of vids whether they be ensemble or character driven vids, vids with dialogue audio, vids with heavy effects, vids that are serious, vids that a funny, etc. So really, go with whatever angle or direction you want. However, if you are looking for inspiration, I do have a couple of prompts below.

I also like all genres of music so feel free to choose any song but I do appreciate unlikely song choices for vids. And to be honest, a not so insignificant number of my favourite songs are songs that I love because they were used in vids that I love. So I am very easily won over in terms of music.

Hi Festividder!

As always, thank you for making a vid for me :) I have a few brief notes below but really, any kind of vid about any of my requests will be delightful.

Monument Valley (Video Game)

I keep hoping for a vid of Monument Valley even though the story is minimal and it's a mobile game that can only be played in portrait mode. But a vid of it would be so preeeetty!

Portal (Video Game)

I love this game for a lot of reasons. I love playing it and I thought the gameplay mechanics were a lot of fun. I love the scenery in both games: the futuristic testing chambers, the abandoned offices, the broken down facilities and the retro testing chambers in the sequel. I love the songs for the credits. I love the merchandise; I totally own a miniature portal gun and an Aperture Science tank top. I also love these videos: a Portal fan film, an official commercial for the game and the infamous credits song.

So I guess the vid I am envisaging for this is one that doesn't just focus on the gameplay but all the related media around the 'Portal' concept. So you, no biggie, just a small quick massively multi-source vid :O :O :O

The Good Place (TV)

Such a great show and I like all the characters, so whether you want to make an ensemble vid or focus on a character or a relationship, its all good.

Florence + the Machine (Music Videos)

I love Florence's music and I love her music videos. The video for "Big God" is amazing. So vid that looks at all the visuals and themes of her videos would be lovely.

George of the Jungle (1997) [SAFETY]

I nominated this purely because of this tumblr post, so a vid that encapsulates the themes of that post would be lovely.

The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) [SAFETY]

The dynamic between Darius and Michael is pretty amusing, but I would love a vid about Darius and Sonia.

Firstly, as always, thank you Festividder for making me a vid! I have very few notes under the cut so if you were looking for inspiration... whoops. But seriously, I will like any kind of vid from any of the sources.

In regards to music I love all kinds and there have been many vids that have made me love a song purely on the basis of being an awesome vid.

In regards to the kinds of vids that I like, well, that is too vague of a question but I do like vids that "flow" ie. where the movement of the clips flow across the editing.

I don't really have any specific likes or dislikes about vids in general except for saying that I like unique music choices and editing that really flows to the beat of the music.

Below are my nominations. I don't really have many specific requests and I may have spent more time hunting down the gifs then writing any helpful information about the sources. But really, any kind of vid from any of the fandoms is going to be totally awesome. I've noted my favourite thing out of each if it helps (it probably doesn't) but seriously, vid what works for you.

Hilariously, my Festividder turned out to be my Festividdee so we ended up making a vid for each other. So I now know that himundergreen made my Edge of Tomorrow vid.

And I also know now that violace made my Limbo. Which I totally guessed! In my head.

But thank you again to both of you :)

Now I shall go back to lurking under my rock.

Festivids is live!

I sadly only made vid this year. My vidding mofo deserted me but I was still pleased with the vid I made.

I luckily received two awesome vids this year:

Full Metal March (Cambreadth to the Edge) - a Rita themed Edge of Tomorrow vid.
A Forest - a Limbo game vid

I have an idea as to who made the Limbo vid but we'll see when reveals come. Either way, they were both great vids and than you again to the vidders.

Hopefully, now that the stress of making the Festivids deadline is over, I can get back to some other vids.

Yay, it's my favourite time of year again! And yes, I totally look forward to festivids more than Christmas.

Firstly, to whoever is matched with me, thank you so much for making me a vid! And to anyone who makes me a treat, thank you as well! The more vids the merrier!

You will note I have included no musical suggestions with my prompts. Personally, my enthusiasm and ease of making a vid is normally tied in to the song choice. If I can't get behind the song, making the vid becomes so much harder. So I will leave the song choice to you vidder since you'll be the one listening to it over and over and over again. I also have no musical preference in terms of genre, so if the songs works for the source, whether it be pop, country, rap or metal, then go ahead and use it.

Dear Festividder,

First of all, thank you so much for making a vid for me!

I had this whole paragraph typed out about what things I do and do not like in vids but then I deleted it because really, I love all the fandoms below and getting any kind of vid for them would be awesome. Also, I think the most important thing is that you love the vid as well, Festividder, because well do I know the struggle of trying to push out a vid for a challenge when you are sadly not as in love with it as you had hoped to be.

So make a vid that you would love, Festividder, and it will be awesome!!!

My Requests

You'll note that I have made no mention of music because a) I have a hard enough time picking songs for my own leads, let alone suggesting others, and b) I like all sorts of music anyway. Just pick a song that you think works for the vid and I will love it, regardless of how popular or how alternate the song is.

I also feel like I should apologise for my requests as well. Three are RPF (ie. huge amounts of source to choose from), one is a game (ie. also huge amounts of source to choose from), one is a TV show (a TV show that is now in to it's fourth season) but one is totally a safety fandom!
