I have a question about reccing vids
What are people's opinions on embedding vids in a post when making a rec-list?

Technically, you are not reposting the vid since all the views still go to the original video in the way that reposting a piece of fanart does not. But if I was reccing a piece of fanart, I wouldn't embed the image in my post so is it the same for fanvids or is it different because there is actual embed functionality.

I ask because I feel that embedding the videos makes the post more interesting (instead of just being a wall of text) and people are therefore more likely to watch the vids.

I've never seen a discussion about this so I don't know if I'm just worrying about something that no one cares about. But I also live under a rock in fandom and miss many a conversion.

I know I could also individually check with all the vidders first but I'm going to be honest, that just isn't something I have the time for or even want to spend the time doing.

Yeah, that was my other concern that I didn't mention in the post, I don't want people to watch the vid and then comment with feedback for it on my post. However, I've had that happen even when I just post links so it's not completely avoidable.

I'm thinking about adding additional notes reminding people to comment on the actual vid post as well.

I agree that embedding feels like reposting, which is why I made this post. I know I personally wouldn't care if my vids get embedded in a post but I really have no idea what everyone else thinks.
