Notes:
I had actually finished about 90% of this vid back in May last year but struggled with the last 10%. And it's only now that I finally managed to get it done. I also think it would have been far more appropriate to post it before season six started but I clearly missed that boat. And I also think that certain lyrics would be appropriate for certain events in season six but that would involve some major changes and seeing as how long it took me to get to this point I didn't want to rock the boat even further.

But vid is finished! I quite like how it turned out in theme and editing and I hope everyone else does. And many thanks to

ash48 for the beta :)

So wonderful!... Hee... You already know all the things I love about the vid. I hope I mentioned how much I love the way you've woven the impala into their story. She plays such a major part and you've really highlighted in the vid.

Awake my soul

I loved the feel of this. I think it's just as well you didn't adjust it for the current season -- my own feeling is that it holds together better that way. I particularly like the early section of the vid, I think it says something pretty profound about Sam and Dean's relationship.

Aaaand, yep, I'm crying too - it's all the things I love about SPN in three minutes set to Mumford and Sons. It's like insta!tears. And it's just so beautiful, your juxtaposition of S1 and S5 clips is masterful and I love the way you show Sam and Dean's relationship and the IMPALA and the AMULET and bahhh.

Okay, on rewatch(es), you know what I also LOVE? That instrumental part that starts at 1:30 with the outside footage (? i think?) of the ENGINE and then omg all the family intercutting that is just gorgeous visually with all the internal movement and packs such an emotional punch too... and then bleeds into SAM and DEAN and the IMPALA and the AMULET and HUGS.

okay, and THEN - the clip where Dean hands Sam the wrench cutting straight into Swan Song? on the lyric cue of "awake my soul"? GENIUS. sldkfjsld'

...and now I'll stop squeeing all over you, I'm just - super impresed. :D

This is beautiful and utterly heart-breaking. The song fits them perfectly, I loved the insertion of black-and-white sections, and the beginning credits were priceless.

I really enjoyed this video. First of all, I love Mumford & Sons, and second, I love the boys. But I also think you did a great job of selecting the right clips for the song. It was really effective the way you started out with the postcards on the wall and Dean putting the car on the tracks, and ended with the removal of the tape. That and the fact that you began with some of the scenes between them that outline their rough spots, and then moved on to the good memories (especially the montage of hugs!) and ended with Sam falling into the cage ... yeah. Just great work!
