This is fabulous! Perfectly smooth, the scenes blend into each other flawlessly and it makes my heart ache for the boys. It really highlights what the changes they've gone through while also showing that they're really not that different from how they started. Wonderfully done. =)

Oh my god, I love this so much. Arcade Fire! And - wow, your editing. You used so much great, underused footage - chains falling, unusual Impala shots, everything - and the commonly used shots like Sam watching Jess disappear behind the utility pole, and the boys watching John's funeral pyre, are cut against such great parallel clips that it feels incredibly fresh. Dean watching Sam and Jess, juxtaposed with Sam watching Dean and Cassie; Jess disappearing stacked against Mary in the flames, John flickering away in the graveyard, Dean's girlfriend flickering away in the park.

So much here is amazingly new and striking and clever - there are so many visual parallels here (I am, it must be said, an absolute sucker for visual parallels) that I haven't seen explored before, like Dean's amulet -> Mary's bracelet -> John's dog tags (I liked that!) -> the brothers' tattoos.

I'm so impressed by how well you integrated footage from all four seasons! And, oh, just little moments like at 1:35 where Sam bumps Dean as they're walking along, and Dean's feet get caught up by the ankle chains in the cell. And at 2:42, where the shutters slam closed as Sam carves into the mattress with a knife.

This vid is so dense (chewy? thought-packed! in a really good way), and I need to get going with my day but I've already watched it a few times in a row, and I know I'm going to be coming back to this vid tons more to poke over and enjoy. There's so much here - the terrible parallels between the brothers (crossroads, violence, heartbreak, desperation, dorky humor), and their ties to each other, both in terms of history (Dean's amulet), the way they move and work around each other (moving through the building back-to-back with flashlights, bumping shoulders as they walk), how they're unhealthily caught up in each other (chains!), all building up the argument that no matter what they do to themselves, or to each other, they're still always going to be the first person the other one reaches for when everything goes down.

This comment went longer than expected! But seeing this made me super happy this morning, and I couldn't resist flailing at you a little. Thank you so much for sharing this!

I love visual parallels, as well. In fact, I want to do a vid just consisting of visual parallel but the thought of planning something like that makes me cringe. One day maybe.

And I like your long comment and your flailing :P I know what I was thinking when making and planning this vid but I always find it interesting hearing the thoughts other people take and I'm glad that the vid was "chewy" enough for you to take away so many thoughts.

Wow, I really enjoyed the vid! I really liked that you put clips from s 1 right with clips from s4 - your vid has this "winchester" fell to it, so you just can't not love it :) I also loved the beat use - cuts were very well done ;)

"Underneath the covers" part was awesome, too )))) And I just loved the end, and how you mixed the fighting scenes with all the others - I personally like to do this trick, and I think it looked awesome in your vid :)

You know what I think but I'll say it again: simply stunning. I adore the subtly of this vid above all and the nuanced way you wove the eroticism and erotic tension throughout. Heartbreaking and beautiful, it is absolutely one of your finest vids and, as I said in my vid rec, now amongst my top three Supernatural vids of all time.

I do know what you think but it's still cool to hear it again :) And I did see your vid recs so thank you very much for those :D

And now I kinda want to know what your other top three Spn vids are. Not to compare but just cause I like vids.

Lovely. It's interesting too that I do not have slash goggles of any variety, but this works for me on a purely brotherly (non-slashy) relationship side of things. Maybe the slash is in the lyrics that I can't really hear. *hands* Anyhow, very nicely done. I may just download it later. :)

I've seen more Wincest vids than I would like, I think, and for the most part I've grown very tired of them because I'm tired of the largely superficial angst and/or "squee! Hot boys making out!" Uh, which is not the best way to start feedback, but the point is that I felt that this vid felt very different in how it was carried out. I love that it builds so faithfully from the canon and builds to what seems a perfectly logical conclusion. I love that even at the height of the conclusion drawn it never seems like it's departing from canon, because the line is toed but never explicitly crossed. The grey area is so expertly mapped out and so well documented by your clip choices, and I love that this vid leads the viewer with such an assured sense of direction, from brotherhood and shared tragedy to the darkness of the incestuous subtext and the eventual reconciliation of these two concepts.

It's weird to think about vids as being OOC, but now I realise that a lot of Wincest vids do strike me as OOC because they carry their own premises that don't quite gel with my view of canon. This vid, on the other hand, feels spectacularly true to character and the nuances of this relationship, and I really think that you've got your finger on a very elusive pulse here. Fantastic work!

That's exactly what grabbed me about this video, but I could not put it into coherent words like you, lady. :) It's how... real, it feels. Realistic. And... different. I'm a little burnt out on the boys, to be honest, even though I keep banging my head against their relationship over and over again. It's nice to see a take that gels with the characters but makes a statement.

This was really nice. Great song choice & the clips...you did a great job giving a fresh perspective to old familiar clips that we've seen in vids a million times. The pacing, edits all build along with the music & it's just so satisfying to watch.
