The other end of the universe...
I'm sorry [livejournal.com profile] kabeyk but I really wanna talk about it.

So I have literally just got back from seeing the movie and I loved it. Truth be told, it wasn't as good as the books and the plot got changed a bit but all things considered that didn't really matter much. After all it's not like the book, tv show and radio scripts were the same.

There were also a lot of jokes that people who haven't read the books wouldn't get but it was still funny and there were all these little things that got worked in that were subtle but good. Like the GPP (Genuine People Personalities) doors from the Sirius (SIRIUS!) Cybernetics Corporation. I think I got that right. I should have.

I liked how they did the Guide with all the cartoons and animation and shit. That was cool. And I liked the voice over as well, just like the footnotes in the book. That added a nice touch.

Marvin was too round but I loved his character (and his voice. Alan Rickman was perfect). Ford was quirky (TOWELS!), Zaphod was manic, Trillian was well meh and Arthur was just a plain idiot, so human and oh dear. Magrathea also looked very cool and I would now like a planet of my own thanks.

And they included the whale's monologue. That was funny. And the pentunias. And everytime the Heart of Gold used the Improbability Drive, that was good. 'We have normality'.

Goodbye to the dolphins (and the whale).

And Deep Thought was a woman. Go figure. (42 to be precise).

Now I'm off to Milliways ;)

Oh and for those who haven't seen the movie yet, make sure you wait through the credits because there is one extra scene.

And you are free to keep my metaphorical testicles for as long as you want. I have no need of them.

And that icon wouldn't have worked for years with me. Hahaha.

Heh, I just use it to show off anything I know that someone else doesn't. The earliest I can see the film will probably be Sunday and if not then, then probably Wednesday. Argh.
