Anyone remember this post of mine?

The one where I talked about wanting an evil empire of my own. Well, er, I just have gone away and created one.

I present to thee, the [livejournal.com profile] arbitraryempire

It's purpose? Vague, at best. I am thinking of using it to host pretty much anything. Fandom challenges, debates, writing exercises. Anything and everything. It's intended to be used as a place to hang out, have fun and go insane.

Yes, you have to apply but if you have a look at the application post you can see it's not exactly a tough interview process. Just something to give me an idea of who you are. But if you are on my flist then chances are you're the kind of person I want there anyway :)

But yeah, there we go. I actually have my own Evil Empire *snort*. So go have a look and if you like the idea then join and spread the word and then we can let the catastrophes begin.

Evolution on trial as Kansas debates Adam vs Darwin

Why don't they teach both viewpoints and tell the kids to believe what they want. Until you prove one side or the side you can't say the other is totally wrong (just for the record, I believe in the evolution train of thought).

Alabama Bill Targets Gay Authors

Republican Alabama lawmaker Gerald Allen says homosexuality is an unacceptable lifestyle.

"I don't look at it as censorship," says State Representative Gerald Allen. "I look at it as protecting the hearts and souls and minds of our children."

Thankfully the bill didn't go through but does anyone else see how unreasonable this sounds. Unacceptable lifestyle? Who is he to say what is acceptable or unacceptable. Personally, I couldn't care whether you're gay, straight or both. Do whatever the hell you want with whoever the hell you want. It just seems so intolerant when surely there are worse things to be worrying about.
