So... Supernatural has finally ended.

I haven't watched the finale and I probably don't intend to. I've read spoilers and I'm... sad and disappointed, despite the fact I stopped watching the show around Season 8 or 9 as I gradually lost interest. Which always made me sad, because those first few seasons (with all their faults) really hit me right in the feels.

But then the seasons started to blur together, the rock songs faded, the visuals lightened and the show didn't seem to care about Sam and Dean as much as I did. I never minded Castiel but I also didn't really care about all the angel related storylines.

I also never got in to Destiel (which I don't know is a good or bad thing in light of recent episodes).

But Supernatural will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the show that got me back in to vidding. I had made a few vids a couple of years before but never shared them. Then I started watching Supernatural and was like, yep, this is a show that I definitely need to make fanvids for.

I've made more Supernatural vids than any other show or movie and I had like 30 additional vid ideas swirling around in my head that I never got around to making. I was also strangely proud of the fact that I was able to recall the first 4 seasons episode by episode in my head because I was scrubbing through them so often for vids.

And you know, I still have this one song that I want to make one final epic SPN vid to. I don't know if it will ever happen since I'll need to watch 15 seasons worth of episodes, and I'll probably end up cutting out all the storylines I don't like so the vid will be completely AU by the time I'm done. But every time I hear the song... I think about what a great vid it would make.

But enough rambling! I may have lost interest in the show but I still love watching fanvids from the early seasons of Supernatural. I remember those years being a delightful time for vidding, so thank you to all the vidders who not only made the vids I enjoyed watching but also who inspired me to keep vidding myself.
