Oh hey are you actually posting vids on AO3? I've never tried and I somehow always assumed AO3 was only for text, like, fiction or poems or stuff?

Tumblr is a bad place! It gives me all sorts of ideas that I never seem to be able to make the time to do and yet I just keep on following blogs.

NOT YAY FOR LONG SONGS! It took me like a year to finish my last vid and that was only 3 minutes long. How do you vid longer songs and not take a year!!!

While I don't think AO3 was built with vids and other forms of art in mind, they are definitely vid friendly and do encourage people to post mediums other than text there. I think I also remember reading somewhere that in the future they would introduce features that are geared more towards vids.

But I originally created an account there so I could add all the fanfic I wrote but then I saw others had posted vids, so I started posting all my vids there so I could feel gleeful about the amount of stuff I had created ;P And now I actually do like it as an alternate archive of my vids. I haven't added any of my fanart there yet. I don't know why because there's no reason not to but it just doesn't seem right to me. But I totally like adding vids there.

I really don't know. Cutting them helps?))) Lately though it feels like I can't finish anything :( I was recced a couple songs this week and I have a few ideas and I'll try to finish a couple of vids this august. Hopefully I'll finish one before the 5th for the theheartofspn =)

As for AO3 - I've never even considered posting vids there, because it feels like there are too many places where I need to post a vid once it's finished. So LJ and tumblr and YouTube for now )) Right now I'm posting my translations there and sometimes I read or bookmark fics there, so, it's cool. I added you btw! <333

I hear you on the can't finish anything lately. I have so many ideas but none seem to make it past the planning stages. I actually sat down and made a plan though, of what I wanted to creative wise, so maybe that will make a difference!

See I only post to LJ and now to AO3 so posting to too many places isn't a problem for me in that sense. I think I remember seeing someone talking about vids and the AO3 and the benefit was that you could use it as your main posting location and then link everything to that post so that way, if you have to change your download links or video streamer, then you only had to change it in one place. Or something *shrug*. I doubt AO3 is going away anytime soon so just keep posting where you want and if you change your mind, you can then spend a week or so posting ALL your vids to it :P

And yeah, right now I'm just starting to really use AO3, I hope with time it'll become more popular for posting fan stuff and all. But you know, LJ is my first place, like, my first home, so AO3 would be great as a back-up|archive thing.
